Admissions Procedure

You will be asked to attend a confidential in-person interview with your child or ward. Before the interview, you will need to provide us with the following information:

  1. Biographical information
  2. Contact information of parents or guardians
  3. Special Fears (history and context)
  4. Medication (past and current)
  5. Dietary issues
  6. Allergies (known and suspected)
  7. Permissions necessary for the student to attend our school (parents/guardians/spouses)
  8. Referrals (please include Evaluator contact information)
  9. Medical Referral. Please attach: Psychological Referral, Academic Referral and other relevant information (Physiotherapist, Nutritionist, Personal etc.)

Note on Referrals

  1. Referrals can be medical, psychological, academic, or personal.
  2. A clinical referral is an evaluation made by a medical professional such as a doctor or a psychologist. Clinical evaluator(s) perform a variety of tasks with your child/ward to help them determine if the child has a disability. They will write a confidential official report explaining what your ward can do and what your ward needs help doing.
  3. An academic referral is relevant if the student has been attending a school.
  4. Confidential professional evaluations help our admissions team properly evaluate if we can help and place the prospective student. A form for full release of psychological, academic and medical information is included in the online application.

Confidential Interview Process

Every prospective student and their parent/guardian must meet with our experienced admissions team for an interview. We conduct these interviews to determine if your ward is likely to benefit from the programs that we offer.

All information gathered is confidential. The interview may broach on subject matter that is personal, medical, physical, educational, psychological, social, and emotional.

After the interview, the admissions team will review the information and contact you. We will make our assessment based on if we believe our school can properly meet your child’s needs.

Admissions Criteria

Enrolment is year-round, which means that we can accept students at any point in the year. Admission depends on the ability of our programs to meet the needs of each individual student.

The school is limited in its ability to cater for pupils whose primary presenting need is behaviourally aggressive. If your child has difficult behaviours, hyperactive, not toilet trained, or is prone to episodes of violence, the student must be accompanied daily by a personal attendant until the condition is resolved. There are no exceptions to this rule.
