Lily Class

Lily class is made up of children between the ages of 8 and 11years living with Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and Mild Intellectual Disability. They are mostly boys (6boys and a girl, which is the situation in 7 out of 8 of all our classes). 80% of the pupils in this group require one-on-one support, hence the need for volunteers throughout the whole school year. Most of the class activities entails gross and fine motor skills as our medium and long-term goals are geared towards independence to a great extent. These activities (skills) enhances movement, eye to hand/leg to leg coordination as well as improve self-help and writing skills.

The cognitive functioning level of these pupils are based on preschool/kindergarten activities, where we involve pupils in activities on numeracy, Literacy, nature/ science, environmental studies and Daily Living (ADL).
