About Us

Who We Are

New Horizon Special School is a private school in Ghana, West Africa, for people with intellectual disabilities and autism.

Founded by Mrs. Founded by Salome Francois in 1972, our school provides special education for children aged 5 to 18, and vocational training employment for  students over 18. We are legally registered as a voluntary, non-profit making and charitable institution with the Ministry of Education. 

We strive to develop each student’s potential to the full so that they can lead a productive and satisfying life.

Our program targets the academic, physical, social, behavioral, and emotional needs of every student helping them find opportunities to succeed and to become a contributing member of society.

Our Vision

We strive to serve an identified special education population and provide them with appropriate models of education & vocational training for children and adults with special needs. 

Our Philosophy

Every child, handicapped or not, has the right to develop to their fullest capabilities.

All children are knowledgeable and deserve love and respect.
